In a disturbing turn of events, four Baloch students from Ghazi University were allegedly forcibly disappeared by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Punjab Police in Dera Gazi Khan. The victims—Sakim Baloch, Amir Baloch, Salman Baloch, and Zubair Baloch—were taken from their hostel in Model Town at 2 AM and moved to an undisclosed location.
Azhar Baloch, Secretary General of the Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC), confirmed the incident, emphasizing the wide-scale raids conducted by CTD and Punjab Police in various student hostels in DG Khan.
This unsettling development aligns with the ongoing Long March in Balochistan, a significant movement addressing "enforced disappearances" and "extrajudicial killings." As the march progresses from Kohlu towards Dera Ghazi Khan, it has garnered substantial public support, shedding light on the escalating human rights crisis in the region.
The urgency of addressing these issues cannot be overstated, with the data pointing to a deepening crisis in Balochistan. The abductions underscore the need for international attention and intervention to ensure the safety and rights of Baloch students and, by extension, the broader population.
