Since November 23, the people of Balochistan have been united in their demand for justice following the extrajudicial killing of 24-year-old Baalach Mola Bakhsh. Taken from Turbat on October 29, he was later killed in an alleged encounter after being presented before a court. This tragic incident sparked widespread protests, with Balaach's family and the Baloch Yakjehti Committee demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits.
The protesters, initially ignored in Turbat and Quetta, faced harsh government response, including arrests and fabricated cases. Moving to Islamabad, where 290 protesters were arrested, the struggle persisted despite attempts to quell it. The government labeled the protesters as terrorist sympathizers, revealing a dismissive attitude towards their genuine concerns.
Amidst the struggle, a former caretaker provincial minister set up a camp in Islamabad, diverting attention from the missing persons issue. The families of the disappeared are not responsible for the unrest, emphasizing their peaceful struggle for justice.
Read my brief perspective on Dawn newspaper. It must be understood that the families of missing persons aren't responsible for the unrest in Balochistan, nor are they engaging in a war of narratives. The state should recognize the peaceful struggle for their loved ones' release.…

The government's attempts to undermine the cause through staged rallies and media talks have only intensified the people's resolve. The protesters, enduring harsh conditions, emphasize that their goal is the release of missing persons, not a prolonged sit-in.
Dr. Mahrang Baloch, reflecting on the situation, calls on the state to address the primary issue rather than diverting resources to build a new narrative. The victims, protesting for justice, should not be blamed for the violence and security issues in Balochistan. Accountability rests with the state and its agencies, urging a serious commitment to resolving the crisis and bringing about lasting change.
